We had the privilege of playing for AsOne last night.  Let me just say, AsOne has got to be one of the coolest ministries I've seen in a long time!  Around 12 churches have decided to do their youth programming TOGETHER over the summer.  So, each Sunday night, those 12 youth ministries gather and do their "youth service" together...as one.  FINALLY, something that screams of "KINGDOM CHURCH", and not "our church, our group, our way".  What a great thing the Lord is doing there!

The guys and I had a blast playing there last night.  It truly was a blessing to be there.  Matt Woodburn gave a great message on the proper response to sin which was followed by God reminding His people that He had "paid it all".  At the end, we had one more song to do.  It was going to be "Here is Our King" by Crowder and we were gonna rock it.  It was gonna be big, fun, and all kinds of praising craziness.  Well, for some reason, my guitar wouldn't work.  At first I got a little frustrated, but then I just felt like it was God's way of saying "do something different here, phil."  So, we let go of our instruments, and with the choir of about 150 AsOne students and 30-40 youth leaders, we just decided to sing (acappella) that we were here to worship, to bow down, to say that HE is our God.  A God who is altogether lovely, worthy, and wonderful.  God showed up and His people responded.  What a joy.
Even better than all of that, I truly believe the Lord was pleased - which means the night was a success.

We'll be back at AsOne on August 13th...and we can't wait!
