My name tag says… Phil Wing

In the band I… sing, play guitar, and occasionally play piano.

I use…
Guitars: Taylor K-14CE, Gibson Les Paul Custom (borrowed from a very kind man who allows me to use it at all times – Thanks Jim!), Joe’s Thinline Telecaster.
Amp: Epiphone Valve Jr. Head w/ Bitmo Trio Mod and a Marshall 2×12 cab.   Pedals: [acoustic] Korg DT 10 tuner  [electric] in chain order:  Vox wah, Boss TU-2 Tuner, Ibanez TS 808, Fulltone Fulldrive 2 (Mosfet), Boss GigaDelay DD-20 (with outboard tap tempo pedal), Boss RV-5.

I go home to…
my beautiful wife, Amber who graciously married me in Feb. of 2002. Some couples use cute nicknames…we call each other “Dude”. We have 2 great kids, Gibson and Maya, and we’re in the process of adopting our 3rd child from Ethiopia.  Oh, we also have a very ferocious guard dog named Delia – she’s a lab/retriever mix…and she will lick you to death.

God’s story, God’s scene, I’m just an extra…but it’s a great scene to be in… I love Jesus and have had the pleasure of getting to know Him since I was 13.  Jesus is not a part of my life – He is my life.

By day… I am one of the pastors at Apex Community Church. I love it!

I get jazzed about… real worship; my family; songwriting; my church; good music; good food

Favorite Song lyric… “Everyone has their obsession; Consuming thoughts, consuming time.  They hold high their prized posession that defines the meaning of their lives…You are mine”  Mute Math – You are Mine

Favorite Movie Quote… “Because it’s a book about a man who doesn’t know he’s about to die. And then dies. But if a man does know he’s about to die and dies anyway. Dies- dies willingly, knowing that he could stop it, then- I mean, isn’t that the type of man who you want to keep alive?”  Stranger Than Fiction
