December 2005

Best moment of 2005:
- the birth of Gibson Jude Wing on April 23rd.

Best lessons learned in 2005:
- don’t expect more out of people than you have put into them.
- God will provide.

Best sermons heard in 2005:
- Francis Chan - PD Worship Conference - “God is the star of this scene…we are just extras…but it’s a great scene to be in.”

Best date of 2005:

Best band accomplishment of 2005:
- finally making a CD…even though it’s only 5 songs…and not quite done yet. :o)

Other bests:
- deepening relationships
- seeing growth
- writing new songs
- Collective
- too many blessings to count

I blatantly stole this idea from Joel…what can I say, he’s a smart guy.

- Favorite bands in high school: DC Talk, Bush, Blessed Union of Souls, Oleander
- I agree with David Letterman’s view of cell phones. “I don’t like them. They make my ear hot. ”
- when my $12 shoes from Walmart died last week, I was REALLY sad.
- I’ve been mentally scarred by the “too naked” guys in the YMCA locker room. (refer to Seinfeld for the definition of “too naked”)
- After I work out, I flex in the mirror.
- Favorite bands in college: Third Eye Blind, Tonic, Third Day, Chasing Furies
- Amber makes me feel secure. There’s something so freeing when you know you’re accepted without reservation.
- For some reason, I almost take pride in the fact that I grew up in the 4th most dangerous city in America.
- I really like snow…but I don’t really like how it gets all cold and dark in the winter. It brings out my rarely seen cynical side.
- I sin too much.
- God has placed some very kind people in my life…kindness which I do not deserve.
- I really love to write music…I wish I did it more.
- I’ll take Peanut Butter & Jelly over lunch meat every time.
- Current favorite bands: Coldplay, David Crowder Band, Switchfoot, Mat Kearney
- Late at night, long after he’s gone to bed, I often get the urge to go wake up Gibson just so I can see him and hold him. I used to think it was so cheesy when parents said that kind of stuff. Now I’m that guy…and I’m proud of it.
- I often wonder if I have the ability to do what’s coming in the future.
- If I weren’t me, I would read this list and think I was weird.

it’s a beautiful feeling
to know you’re FORGIVEN
to know the weight of the world
is no longer on your shoulders

when you can finally breathe in
it’s a breath of redemption
to know your COVERING
is something so much larger

we are made free
in our new identity
liberation and release
we are FREE

EDIT: added 12/14 - 4:30pm

just to be HELD
by the supernatural
to know our dependence is on
something so much greater

we are made free
in our new identity
liberation and release
we are FREE
